I would highly recommend that you consider learning from a professional. Not only will he know which books to buy, he will also be able to give you tips on how to improve your game. There are a ton of books out there that teach how to play poker that don't contain any actual poker strategies or techniques. If you want to learn how to play poker, you need to look elsewhere.
If you happen to find yourself at a bookstore and aren't sure where to start, I recommend looking for an index card in the book that lists the book contents. Once you've found the section that you want to read about, simply locate the card that contains the book title and look for a corresponding chapter on how to play poker. That's it!
